In addition to featuring fun, functional, cheap crafts, I will also be introducing you to some amazing cheap crafting heroes. It is only fitting that I begin by featuring the woman who got me started blogging almost 4 years ago. She’s supportive, imaginative, and THE authority on dollar store crafting, as the creator of the incredible resource blog, Dollar Store Crafts.

Best Cheap Crafts:
Favorite source for cheap craft materials:
The dollar store, of course! I shop at Dollar Tree the most, because that's the only dollar store I have locally in Oregon.
Why she makes cheap crafts:
I can get a lot of the exact same craft supplies and base crafting materials at the dollar store, so why pay $5 when I can pay $1? I make cheap crafts because I don't want to spend $50 on a craft project. I just want to spend a few bucks, have fun, and make something nice.
Tips for cheap crafters:
Check your recycling bin, shop thrift stores, garage sales, and dollar stores. Be familiar with craft store pricing so you know a deal when you find it. And always, use what you have before you run out to the store to buy new supplies.
TERRIFIC TAKEAWAY: Heather pointed out an especially important skill for the cheap crafter: knowing the REAL price of craft supplies. Just because it’s on sale or on an end cap does not mean it’s a good deal. Know your prices, so you can spot the real deals!
Thanks, Heather, for sharing your cheap crafting prowess with us!
